Walden Security Partners with Mercedes-Benz to Promote Fire Safety Awareness

To promote national Fire Safety Week, Walden Security has partnered with Mercedes-Benz to host a multi-day event to promote fire safety awareness to Mercedes-Benz team members. The event, titled “Protect Your Family from Fire” will be held at the Mercedes-Benz facility in Vance, AL.

The Mercedes-Benz Safety Team and the Walden Security Team will provide Mercedes team members with prevention techniques and response methods for work and home. The group will give a hands-on, interactive experience with the Mercedes-Benz Fire Pumper truck. Walden Security currently protects the Mercedes-Benz manufacturing facility in Vance, AL, Alabama Power, and several AT&T properties in downtown and metro Birmingham.

Walden Security Enters New Markets in Birmingham, AL and Charlotte, NC

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (September 21, 2011) – Walden Security, one of America’s largest privately-held security companies, entered two new markets by opening offices in Birmingham, AL and Charlotte, NC earlier this month.

General Manager Mike White leads the Birmingham office, located at One Chase Corporate Center in Hoover. White brings more than ten years experience in commercial real estate and executive protection. He began his career in the U.S. Navy as a Platoon Commander and Task Unit Commander of the Elite Navy SEALs where he served for eleven years and obtained the rank of Lieutenant Commander. Prior to his naval career, White was an All-Southeastern Conference football player for the University of Alabama, playing for the legendary Paul “Bear” Bryant.

Walden Security currently protects the Mercedes-Benz manufacturing facility in Vance, AL, Alabama Power, and several AT&T properties in downtown and metro Birmingham.

The Charlotte office, located in uptown Charlotte, is led by operations manager Bryan Bednar and business development manager Jason Phelps. Bednar brings more than twelve years of contract security and military experience to the Walden Security management team. He worked six years in operations and human resources security management roles for one of the nation’s largest contract security firms and began his career serving six years in the U.S. Army, finishing as a Sergeant. Jason Phelps completed five years of service with the U.S. Navy as Second Class Petty Officer and went on to pursue his career as vice president business development for Cedar Management Group before joining Walden Security in 2011.

Walden Security currently provides security for Carillon Building and Charlotte Plaza in downtown Charlotte. Hines owns and manages both properties. The Charlotte office also plans to recruit up to 100 security personnel for upcoming contract implementations.

"NIFTY FIFTY": Women Entrepreneurs Lead Spikes in Sales and Growth

The Women President's Organization and America Express OPEN Name Top 50 Fastest-Growing Women-Owned/Led Companies: - Walden Security in 9th Spot
Vancouver, B.C. (April 28, 2011) – The Women Presidents’ Organization (WPO), in partnership with American Express OPEN, the small business division of American Express, today released the fourth ranking of the 50 Fastest Growing Women-Owned/led companies in North America. The Top 50 generated a combined $4.1 billion in 2010 revenues (mean of $82.7 million) and collectively employed 24,650 in 2010 (projected average for 2011 is 557 employees).

BrightStar, a home healthcare and medical staffing company based in Illinois, rose from the number two spot last year to top the list in 2011. Shelly Sun, president and chief executive officer, who plans to take her business public, saw her nine-year-old company revenue quadruple in two years from $24,413,433 in 2008 to $99,142,249 in 2010. Shelly attributes BrightStar’s use of social media as a significant factor in her company’s rapid revenue growth.

Sierra Nevada Corporation, a Nevada-based electronic systems provider, is new to the list and comes in second both in growth and longevity (the business was founded in 1963). The company has nearly doubled revenues ($690,000,000 in 2008 to $1,201,000,000 in 2010) and employment (1,183 in 2008, 2,067 in 2010 and 2,170 projected for 2011).

Rose International, Inc., a contingent workforce services and IT solutions company based in Missouri, is the third fastest-growing company and also a newcomer to the annual ranking. Himanshu Bhatia, owner and chief executive officer, has seen her business employment skyrocket (1,500 in 2008, 5,000 in 2010 and 6,500 projected for 2011) in addition to the company’s rapid revenue growth ($117,000,000 in 2008 to $230,000,000 in 2010).

Walden Security Enters Dallas-Fort Worth Market By Opening Office In Las Colinas

Hires Industry Veteran Nancy Montgomery to Lead Office
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (March 3) – Walden Security, one of America’s largest privately-held security companies, will enter the Dallas-Fort Worth market by opening an office in Las Colinas on March 3. It will be led by Nancy Montgomery, an industry veteran with 21 years experience – including 17 in Dallas – where she has helped protect more than 60 Class A office buildings and Fortune 500 corporate campuses.

“People in Dallas-Fort Worth know Nancy Montgomery, and they know her reputation for building successful client partnerships and delivering exceptional customer service,” said Walden Security President Michael S. Walden. “Those are exactly the same qualities we’ve always used to build our company and I am excited about adding Nancy to the Walden Security team.”

The Dallas-Fort Worth expansion marks the latest milestone for Walden Security, which started more than 20 years ago with a business card and a handshake. The Dallas office will be located at 511 East John Carpenter, a Cousins property in Las Colinas. Walden Security Awards College Scholarships to Children of Company Employees

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Aug. 5) – For the second straight year, Walden Security has awarded college scholarships to all eligible children of Walden Security employees who applied and met the criteria. Recipients of the Walden Security Employee Family Scholarships were chosen based on their grades, extracurricular activities and financial need. They were honored last month with a special luncheon at the Chattanooga Golf and Country Club that also featured keynote speaker Tennessee State Senator Bo Watson.

There were a total of 13 scholarships awarded this year, up from nine last year, and the 2010 honorees included seven repeat winners:

Cordell Cossairt of Ringgold, Ga., is a rising senior at Berry College. Cordell’s father, Michael Cossairt, is a security officer in Chattanooga.
Jessiccah Hallock of Douglasville, Ga., who will enroll this fall at Georgia State University. Her father, Dwayne Jones, works as a security officer in Atlanta.
Kristie Holt of Dickson, Tenn. is a repeat winner of the Walden Security Employee Family Scholarship. She’s a rising junior at Tennessee Tech. Her father, Bobby Holt, is a security officer in Nashville.
Jonathan Hudson of Chattanooga, Tenn., is a repeat winner of the Walden Security Employee Family Scholarship. He’s a rising sophomore at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. His mother, Kelly Burns, is a controller in the corporate office.
Caleb Kelly of Chattanooga, Tenn., is a repeat winner of the Walden Security Employee Family Scholarship. He’s a rising junior at Middle Tennessee State University. His mother, Tekelia Kelly, is an instructional design coordinator in the corporate office.

Marriah Paige of Lithonia, Ga., is a repeat winner of the Walden Security Employee Family Scholarship. She’s a rising sophomore at the University of Georgia. Her grandfather, Fred Paige, works as a security officer in Atlanta.
Adam Perry of Old Hickory, Tenn. is a repeat winner of the Walden Security Employee Family Scholarship. He’s a rising sophomore at Volunteer State Community College. His father, Clark Perry, is a security officer in Nashville.
Julian Reed of Chattanooga, Tenn., is a rising freshman at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. His mother, Beth Bullion, is a human resources manager in the corporate office.
Bianca Schulze of Marietta, Ga., is a rising junior at Georgia State University. Her mother, Nancy Mack, is an operations manager in Atlanta.
Keli Shipley of Chattanooga, Tenn., is a rising freshman at Maryville College. Her father, Tom Shipley, works as director of quality assurance in the corporate office.
Bonnie Williams of Smyrna, Tenn. is a repeat winner of the Walden Security Employee Family Scholarship. She’s a rising sophomore at Middle Tennessee State University. Her mother, Beth Williams, is a senior operations manager in the Nashville office.

Walden Security Announces Employee Family Scholarship

Walden Security awards scholarships to dependents of employees.
Chattanooga, Tenn. (May 19, 2009) – Walden Security, one of the nation’s fifteen-largest and fastest growing contract security firms, announces that it will award annual scholarships to assist qualifying children of Walden Security employees seeking a college education. The scholarship program will launch July 1, 2009.

“Walden Security recognizes that today’s increased costs of secondary education often place a burden on our employees whose children pursue higher education,” said Michael Walden, CPP, President of Walden Security, “Without our employees, Walden Security could not have achieved such unprecedented success, so we have chosen to give back to those who have been such an important part of our corporate family.”

Each year, Walden Security will offer at least 35 scholarships to qualifying children of Walden Security employees whose parents meet certain employment criteria and who have been accepted by an accredited college, university or vocational/technical school. Applications will be reviewed by an independent panel of judges and awards will be given to those with a history of scholastic achievement and a commitment to earn an advanced degree and preference will be given based on demonstrated financial need.

American Systems Registrar auditor Gordon Cox was impressed with continued positive improvements made during the first three years, noting significant company-wide growth and client satisfaction rating of ninety-two percent. Web-based Training Participation Hits First Milestone

ATLANTA, GA (June 14, 2006) -- The Walden Security Learning and Development department announces that 1,500 Web-based Training courses have been completed by employees of the company.

Available only to Walden Security employees, the proprietary courseware covers topics such as Communications, Report Writing, Emergency Situations, and more.

"Though classroom settings are ideal in most cases, we believe that interactivity, consistency, and flexibility are key success factors when facilitating an ongoing security officer training program," said Denise Goff, director of training for Walden Security, "by delivering courseware online, we are able to reach individuals faster and with greater frequency because security officers do not have to wait for a class to be scheduled and courses may be taken at a time convenient for the employee."

Walden Security Customer Satisfaction Rating Ninety-Two Percent
