Chattanooga, Tenn. (May 19, 2009) – Walden Security, one of the nation’s fifteen-largest and fastest growing contract security firms, announces that it will award annual scholarships to assist qualifying children of Walden Security employees seeking a college education. The scholarship program will launch July 1, 2009.
“Walden Security recognizes that today’s increased costs of secondary education often place a burden on our employees whose children pursue higher education,” said Michael Walden, CPP, President of Walden Security, “Without our employees, Walden Security could not have achieved such unprecedented success, so we have chosen to give back to those who have been such an important part of our corporate family.”
Each year, Walden Security will offer at least 35 scholarships to qualifying children of Walden Security employees whose parents meet certain employment criteria and who have been accepted by an accredited college, university or vocational/technical school. Applications will be reviewed by an independent panel of judges and awards will be given to those with a history of scholastic achievement and a commitment to earn an advanced degree and preference will be given based on demonstrated financial need.
