Walden Security Enters New Markets in Birmingham, AL and Charlotte, NC

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.  (September 21, 2011) – Walden Security, one of America’s largest privately-held security companies, entered two new markets by opening offices in Birmingham, AL and Charlotte, NC earlier this month.

General Manager Mike White leads the Birmingham office, located at One Chase Corporate Center in Hoover. White brings more than ten years experience in commercial real estate and executive protection.  He began his career in the U.S. Navy as a Platoon Commander and Task Unit Commander of the Elite Navy SEALs where he served for eleven years and obtained the rank of Lieutenant Commander. Prior to his naval career, White was an All-Southeastern Conference football player for the University of Alabama, playing for the legendary Paul “Bear” Bryant. 

Walden Security currently protects the Mercedes-Benz manufacturing facility in Vance, AL, Alabama Power, and several AT&T properties in downtown and metro Birmingham.

The Charlotte office, located in uptown Charlotte, is led by operations manager Bryan Bednar and business development manager Jason Phelps.  Bednar brings more than twelve years of contract security and military experience to the Walden Security management team.  He worked six years in operations and human resources security management roles for one of the nation’s largest contract security firms and began his career serving six years in the U.S. Army, finishing as a Sergeant.  Jason Phelps completed five years of service with the U.S. Navy as Second Class Petty Officer and went on to pursue his career as vice president business development for Cedar Management Group before joining Walden Security in 2011.

Walden Security currently provides security for Carillon Building and Charlotte Plaza in downtown Charlotte. Hines owns and manages both properties.  The Charlotte office also plans to recruit up to 100 security personnel for upcoming contract implementations.
