In Chattanooga, two Court Security Officers (CSOs), Davis Stone and Harold Diaz, exemplify a lifelong commitment to service that spans their careers in the U.S. Army, the Chattanooga Police Department, and their current roles at Walden Security. Their journeys are intricately connected, revealing a partnership rooted in shared experiences and dedication to the safety of their community. Through decades of service, they have become pillars of reliability and trust, demonstrating unwavering commitment and exceptional skill in every role they undertake.

From Fort Campbell…

Their professional journeys began in the U.S. Army at Fort Campbell. Davis enlisted in the Tennessee Army National Guard in July 1983 and swiftly advanced through the ranks to become a 2nd Lieutenant after completing Officer Candidate School (OCS) in 1987. His military service was distinguished by a pivotal deployment during Operation Desert Storm with the 24th Infantry Division, where he earned the Bronze Star and several meritorious service accommodations for his exemplary actions.

Similarly, Harold's military career spanned 22 years in the U.S. Army. He began as a wheel vehicle mechanic and progressed to roles such as a military police desk sergeant and patrol supervisor. His contributions included leading patrols and coordinating security operations during three deployments at Fort Campbell, where he formed lasting professional relationships, including the one with Davis.

Davis Stone has been a pivotal part of Walden Security since February 2015. With almost three decades of experience in law enforcement, he is passionate about ensuring the safety of court staff and visitors.
“What I appreciate about being a CSO is that it allows me to continue my law enforcement career in a supportive capacity,” he shares. With a keen awareness of his surroundings and a proactive mindset, Davis remains vigilant on the job, always ready to anticipate potential issues.

…to the Chattanooga Police Department…

After their military service, both Davis and Harold transitioned into civilian life by joining the Chattanooga Police Department(CPD). Davis dedicated nearly 30 years to the CPD, starting in 1984. He worked his way up from patrol officer to lieutenant, specializing in hostage negotiation for 15 years. His extensive experience and the skills he developed in the military prepared him well for the challenges faced on the police force. During his time at the CPD, Davis was recognized for his calm demeanor during crises and his ability to mediate tense situations effectively.

Harold joined the CPD shortly after Davis, and their partnership only grew stronger. Harold also built a solid career in law enforcement, focusing on patrol and supervisory roles. His background in military police operations proved invaluable as he navigated the complex dynamics of police work in Chattanooga. Both men supported each other in various capacities, further strengthening their professional bond and dedication to their community.

Their time at CPD allowed them to rely on each other’s strengths while navigating the complexities of their law enforcement duties, fostering their professional bond.

Harold Diaz joined Walden Security in June 2018 as a Lead CSO, leveraging his extensive background in military and law enforcement. He brings 22 years of service in the U.S. Army to his role, where he enjoys interacting with courthouse visitors and drawing on his law enforcement experience.
“I love interacting with courthouse visitors and using my law enforcement background to do my job,” Harold explains, emphasizing the importance of security in public spaces.

…and currently CSOs with Walden Security

Today, Davis and Harold continue their legacy of service as CSOs at Walden Security. Davis, who joined in February 2015, emphasizes that his role allows him to continue his commitment to law enforcement in a supportive capacity. His vigilance involves actively observing and anticipating potential security issues, ensuring a safe environment for court staff and visitors alike.

Harold, who has been with Walden Security since June 2018,serves as a Lead CSO. He finds fulfillment in interacting with courthouse visitors and using his law enforcement background to maintain a secure atmosphere. The extensive experiences that both Davis and Harold bring to their roles are invaluable to the security and well-being of the courthouse community.

A Lifelong Professional Relationship and Its Impact

Davis and Harold’s overlapping lives, marked by their military and law enforcement careers, create a united front in the courthouse, ensuring that everyone who enters feels safe and secure. Their lifelong professional relationship has allowed them to forge exceptional teamwork as CSOs.
