Court Security Officer
Court Security Officers (CSOs) are former law enforcement officers who are specially deputized U.S. Marshals providing armed security to courthouses, enforcing federal law and judicial orders within the courtroom. Their duties include stationary and roving patrols of their courthouse and surrounding area, including inspecting courtrooms before proceedings and screening people entering to detect weapons, contraband, and prohibited items.
