Stories Behind SPOT Awards: Quarter II 2025

May 13, 2025

Our SPOT Program is a surprise, on-the-spot award given to an employee. It celebrates our employees' hard work, initiative, professionalism, leadership and excellent incident response. A SPOT Award is a small way to honor and recognize our employees who consistently exceed expectations and deliver outstanding professionalism. Read stories behind our recent SPOT Award Recipients from Quarter II:

Quarter II 2025

Eric Armijo – Sante Fe, NM

When two elderly ladies visited the courthouse where CSO Eric Armijo works, he gave them an impromptu tour, showing them through the courthouse, courtroom and historic art. When the ladies left after the tour, one accidentally dropped her driver’s license outside the courthouse. After work, CSO Armijo returned the ID to the address listed on the ID. A week later, she returned to the courthouse to thank CSO Armijo for his care and kindness.

Kamri Bradshaw – Charlotte, NC

When her site supervisor was on leave, Security Officer Kamri Bradshaw stepped in to fill the gap. Her leadership qualities and excellent work impressed her coworkers and clients, ensuring that everything at her site ran smoothly.

Ron Brummet – Anniston, AL

We want to recognize Security Officer Ron Brummett (right in photo) for 17 years of service. He has done an exceptional job worthy of a SPOT Award, and his experience and dedication will be missed upon his retirement in May. We wish him well as he hangs up his duty belt and uniform to travel and enjoy retirement with his wife!

Nakia Hendrix and Michael Landers – Youngstown, OH

While working entry at their courthouse, CSOs Nakia Hendrix and Michael Landers observed a man exit a taxi and enter the courthouse. CSO Hendrix spoke with the man, who was confused and unsure how to get to the bus station. CSO Hendrix determined that the man was from a local nursing home and was able to contact his case worker. The case worker provided directions for where the man should go, and the CSOs assisted him with getting the bus.

A short time later, the man returned to the courthouse, again confused. CSO Landers sat with the man for some time and recontacted his case worker. CSO Landers then assisted the man with downloading an app on his phone and walking him through buying a bus ticket online, as they did not accept cash. CSO Landers followed up with a phone call to ensure the man returned home safely. Both CSO Hendrix and Landers spent a significant amount of time assisting the man, demonstrating professionalism and kindness throughout.

Starshema Jones – Columbia, SC

Security Officer Starshema Jones noticed an individual at her site who had previously vandalized and caused trouble several weeks prior. She immediately went outside to prevent them from causing more trouble, while the local police arrived and cited the individual for trespassing. Security Officer Jones is pictured with her client.

Charles Shinaberry – Charleston, SC

Security Officer Charles Shinaberry received a SPOT Award for his dedication and service to his site, where he has served for two years on the night shift. Security Officer Shinaberry is a highly reliable and dedicated professional who excels in communication and can be counted on to perform the job effectively and efficiently. He exemplifies our standard of Setting the Standard by Setting the Example daily.

Betsy Warren - Chattanooga, TN

Security Officer Betsy Warren has been with Walden Security for over 10 years. Over 10 years of being an invaluable asset to her site, and over 10 years of always having a smile on her face. We look forward to celebrating her 10-year tenure milestone at our next Tenure ceremony in Chattanooga.
