Walden Security Honors Officer of the Month for July 2023

August 23, 2023

Walden Security Honors our Officers of the Month for July 2023 from our Commercial Services Division. Each branch recognizes one employee per month for their incident response and/or their dependability, hard work and professionalism.

Atlanta, GA: Officer Beau Farr

  • Officer Farr received the accolade for her willingness to step in when needed and perform duties that go above and beyond.

Birmingham, AL: Officer Keaton Jefferson

  • Officer Jefferson has shown superb leadership skills at his site during a time of transition and has consistently impressed his client with his performance. He is pictured center with Herman Lewis (left), Senior Operations Manager, and Patrick Radney (right), Senior Operations Manager.

Chattanooga, TN: Officer Thomas Finley & Officer Harold Welch

  • Officer Finely has provided 14 years of exceptional service as a Walden Security officer. He performs his duties mindfully and professionally as Post Supervisor. He is polite, helpful and timely in all he does. For his consistent dedication for so many years, he received the award for Officer of the Month.
  • Officer Welch serves as a Mobile Patrol Officer (MPO), and does an excellent, thorough job in his patrols.

Charleston, SC: EMT Officer Esmeralda Martinez-Gonzalez

  • In two hours, EMT Officer Martinez-Gonzalez responded to 3 calls at her site. The first call was to aid a patient sprayed with 93% pressurized sulfuric acid. She immediately assessed the situation and provided first aid while the patient was in the chemical shower. At that time, Site Supervisor Megan Crowder arrived to assist, and they were able to obtain vitals. Throughout the chaos, Officer Martinez-Gonzalez managed to commit every detail (times the patient entered the shower, vital results and spray pattern) to memory, since she was unable to take notes under the chemical shower. Seventeen minutes later, EMS arrived, and Officer Martinez-Gonzalez transferred care of the patient.

After that call, there were two more calls within the next hour. As Site Supervisor Megan Crowder, who assisted during each incident, highlighted: “Officer Martinez-Gonzalez didn’t skip a beat. She worked diligently to provide top-tier medical care for each patient, while still having a soaked uniform and boots. When everything was complete, she wrote thorough patient care reports to document every detail from our medical calls. She showed extensive knowledge and attention to detail and is a prime example of what it means to put the client and the job duties first.”

Dallas, TX: Officer Officer Tim Richardson & Micheal Williams

  • Officer Richardson and Officer Williams disarmed an individual armed with a machete. Their bravery, quick thinking and observations ensured lives were saved from a serious incident. They both received a letter of commendation from their site for their effective incident response.

Knoxville, TN: Officer Rasheed Woods

  • Officer Woods was able to de-escalate a situation at his site involving an individual that was armed with a man-made weapon of some kind.

To be eligible for Officer of the Month, the officer must have been a Walden Security employee for a minimum of 90 days and can only be named Officer of the Month once each year. Each branch selects one Officer of the Month for every 150 officers. All Officers of the Month are in the running for Officer of the Year.
